In July, Instagram's Threads burst onto the social media scene with a bang, quickly amassing over 100 million users in just a week. However, that initial excitement faded in the months that followed.

But now, Threads, a Twitter rival, is making a comeback with a series of new features. It seems Meta's CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, is delivering on the promises he made earlier this year. Some of these features include a web version, keyword search, voice posts, and the long-awaited ability to edit posts. Threads also now lets you easily follow updates in specific threads with a simple tap on the bell icon, a handy feature for keeping up with mentions, and the option to tag people's Instagram accounts. They've got even more improvements in the works, like the introduction of polls.

As for Threads' user base, Apptopia data shows that in October, it had around 33 million daily active users and 120 million monthly active users. This is an increase from the numbers we saw in July, which were around 25 million daily users and 100 million monthly users. Threads has been on a download spree too, with an impressive 260 million downloads since its July 6th launch. September downloads almost doubled those in August.

What's interesting is that Threads has a relatively small team of about 50 people, but they're pleasantly surprised by the app's growing popularity. It seems Meta is genuinely committed to making Threads a success.

As part of this push, Threads is becoming more integrated with Facebook and Instagram, two of the world's most popular apps. Now, you can easily find Threads on your Instagram profile, share Threads posts through Instagram direct messages, and see Threads promotions in your Instagram feed under the "Threads for you" section.
